1-Creation dawns with glorious rays,

Tenderly loved by the Sovereign’s gaze.

Man and woman, the pinnacle of all,

Exercising dominion on this terrestrial ball.

2-The image of God still present yet marred by sin,

Man fallen from grace through the Serpent’s spin.

Beautiful monsters, lost and in exile,

Grief, pain, and strife, all is futile.

3-Ancient promises, covenants made so rich and free,

All flowing from the Master’s gracious decree.

A people imperfect, deep in transgressions,

Stiff-necked, fat hearts, casting off covenant blessings.

4-Four hundred years silent, ending with the Christ-child’s cry,

Born to keep the Law, born to love, heal, and die.

Aiming to pillage and ransack the kingdoms of man,

Destroying suffering and death according to God’s plan.

5-His shout of “It is finished” ringing out as a bell,

Declaring victory as Messiah-King harrows Hell.

Raised incorruptible, immortal through Triune might,

Ascended to rule and reign in unapproachable light.

6-The good Spirit now poured out without limit or measure,

A people on mission, reborn through His good pleasure.

Pushing back the darkness as they pray and preach,

A triumphant King promised to return when all are reached.

7-Humanity’s full relief when death disappears,

A tender Lord and Savior who comes to wipe away their tears.

All is made anew, everything truly resurrected and restored,

God and man reconciled in peace, joy forevermore.
